How to be a successful English learner

Most of people think it very difficult for them to learn English, I have ever thought so.. The teachers often give advice to learner: Reading as much as you can, practice speaking every day. Recently I am trying best to study English. I make up my mind to be a successful learner. Now, though I'm not a winner, I want to show my opinion.
First of all, I should be interested in English, just as what I think, I want to communicate with many people in English. I should rather learn from beginning. I read English text for write a message or a note every day, just as what the teacher said: Practicing as much as you can.
Secondly, I am independent learners. Though I have English class every night, I have never depend on our teacher. Successful learning is active learning. I try anything to communicate with others. I'm not afraid to make mistakes and repeat what I say.
As a English learner, my English learning has been less than successful, if you are the same as I, you might change your studying methods and try best.
